Mrs. Burwell
Hi, I’m Mrs. Burwell – I’ve been teaching at Niagara Charter School since 2013. Mr. Burwell and I have two children – a daughter and a son… they are awesome! We also have two cats named Levi and Rex and a dog named Colby. We like to go out to eat, visit zoos and love to get ice cream!
Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, making friends, and learning new things each day. My hope for this school year is that all children will feel welcome in our classroom in order to grow as learners. By June, all students will end the school year as readers! In order to get to that point, students will be identifying letters and their sounds, building short words, and learning sight words to increase their reading ability.
In math we will use lessons to be able to count to 100, write numbers to 20, add and subtract within 10 and learn about cool number bonds!
My hope is that parents and guardians will encourage their child’s love for school and learning so we can make the Kindergarten year a great experience.
