Mrs. CecalaWelcome to 5th grade! I am eager and excited to be working with you and your child this year. 5th grade is a year filled with learning, growing and developing new skills. I have been at NCS since 2015 and have had several different roles but teaching 5th is the best one yet! I am so thankful to be working with such an amazing group of students, teachers and parents.
I am a graduate of Buffalo State College and the University at Buffalo. In 2014 I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in childhood education, and later I graduated with my master’s degree in 2017 specializing in literacy. When I am not at NCS you can find me spending time with my family, friends and my dog Lance. I love being active, crafting or just reading a good book. One of my favorite seasons is football season! I am a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills.
This year I am looking forward to creating a classroom environment where students are comfortable to ask questions, take risks and feel inspired to learn new things. I hope that my students are daring enough to try new things, ask for help when needed and to take charge of their learning. The students will be involved in engaging learning experiences, fieldwork and more to help them achieve their best selves.
Again, I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. May this be our best year yet!
