Important Information from Nurse Turri:
To help mitigate the spread of any illnesses in school, If your student is feeling sick (excessive coughing, sneezing, sore throat, headaches, undiagnosed rash, nausea / vomiting, diarrhea), please keep them home. Take their temperature at home in the AM before departing for school. Students should be symptom free and fever free( <100.0F) for 24 hours without the use of medications (Tyleonol or Motrin), before returning to school.
Please have your student’s physical examinations and required immunizations completed by your child’s pediatrician every year. Students are required to have their physical exams completed and submitted to your school as new entrants but also in Kindergarten and grades 1, 3, and 5. (An up to date physical exam is no more than 12 months from the start of the current school year. ) In-state residents have 14 days to have this completed and out-of-state residents have 30 days to complete these requirements. Failure to meet these requirements will result in exclusion from school until proof is provided.
At age Eleven, your student is due for their required TDAP immunization. Please have this completed within 14 days of their birthday. Failure to meet this requirement may result in exclusion from school until proof of immunization is provided.
Allergies: Students must have an annual updated script/note for the current school year from their pediatrician stating what their allergies are and if any dietary considerations are needed. If there are any changes regarding allergies, please make sure you update the school.
Medications: If your student will need medication while on campus, a MD prescription for the current school year must be provided to the school stating what the medication is, how often it should be given and any other considerations regarding it.
*The medication must be brought into the school by a parent/guardian or trusted adult of the parent. Please refrain from sending the medication into school with your student.
*Medication should be labeled with the student’s name by the pharmacy.
*You must have your medication counted by school staff and sign a parental permission form for staff to administer the medication to your student.
*At the end of the school year an adult must come pick up the medication.
Covid Rapid Tests are readily available and are at no cost to families. An adult must come to school to pick them up. Please consent to having your student rapid tested for COVID while in school. It is a great way to identify infection and mitigate the possibility of spread in school. The swab is inserted less than an inch into the nose and is quick and painless. Results are received in less than ten minutes.
Please make sure if your student has a change in their health condition to let the school know as soon as possible. Have the doctor write a note regarding this change.
Please let the school know if your primary phone number changes. It’s so important that we’re able to contact you if we need to.
